BJ Magnets’ Suspended Permanent Plate Magnet is used for variety of conveyors to adsorb ferromagnetic material from non-magnetic materials; and can be used in a countless number of industries, amongst which are – but not limited to food processing (such as Spices, Coffee, Cocoa, Milk Powder, etc.), tobacco, chemicals, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, foundry sand, cattle feed materials, minerals, detergents, pharmaceutical, chemicals, tobacco, plastic, wood processing, cement, recycling, mining.
BJ Magnets’ Suspended Permanent Plate Magnet design depends on the feed material – the size of the conveyor belt in terms of its width and speed, as well as its feed depth; in which case it can easily be installed in an existing system.
In comparison to an electromagnet, Suspended Permanent Plate Magnet is not only less expensive to purchase, but is also to operate, and maintain. To the bargain, it is corrosion and moisture resistant. The Plate Magnet is designed to be suspended over the conveyor belt, typically via a pulley system or a frame, with the magnet being positioned such way to create a magnetic field across the width of the conveyor belt.
The Permanent Plate Magnet is installed using sling chains, set in the opposite direction of the magnetized face of the plate, at angles convenient enough for optimum extraction of metal tramps from the running conveyor belt. All suspension magnets are fitted with a set of durable adjustable suspension chains that are attached to suspension lugs – such that the magnetized face of the Permanent Plate Magnet can either be inclined over the head pulley or in a direct horizontal configuration compare to the conveyor belt.
Thus, as the conveyor belt moves, the magnetic field attracts and lifts ferrous metals (e.g., iron, steel) out of the material stream – And the attracted metals are then carried by the magnetic field to the side of the conveyor belt, where they are discharged into a separate collection area. The non-magnetic materials continue however moving along the conveyor belt, in which stance they get separated from the ferrous metals. This mechanism ensures efficient separation of ferrous metals from non-magnetic materials as it not only reduces contamination and improves product purity; but also protects equipment from damage caused by metal debris.

Both the belt width and the conveyor speed can be customized to best suit customer’s need – as magnets inside are strategically assembled to optimize high performance in terms of filtration of products with designs to withstand the gravity-fed through conveyors and chutes, especially within the food processing and related industries, such to meet some customer’s particular requirements.
The BJ Magnets’ Suspended Permanent Plate Magnet is very efficient in ferrous metal separation, in which case it reduces contamination and improves product purity when it’s positioned over the conveyor belt, to which ferrous metals are attracted and lifted out of the material stream. Moreso, not only other equipment get protected from metal damage, but it also has low maintenance (no electricity required).
And to the bargain, the magnetic field strength can be designed to reach up to 10,000 Gauss, with a belt width of up to 2,5 meters of which the conveyor speed can be adapted up to 5.08 m/s. With the material handling capacity of up to 1000 tph, the temperature can range between -20°C to 200°C.

All our Magnetic Separator Equipment are designed, manufactured and supplied under observation of the principles of the HACCP International Food Safety Standard 0909MAGSEP 1-2010. Moreso, to the bargain of their effectiveness, the internal and external aspect of the magnetic equipment is produced according to the food health and safety standard in terms of the building materials; which is austenitic stainless steel of grade 304 or 316. Thereof upon completion, a certificate of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) which is valid for 12 months is issued; in which case the equipment shall not be subjected to the anual validation.
